Celtic Music

Celtic Music

Every year, the Sonora Celtic Faire brings some of the biggest names in Celtic music to the Mother Lode. For 2009, Need Fire and Banshee in the Kitchen will be heading up the main stage. Perennial favorites Tempest, Wicked Tinkers, Golden Bough, and The Black Irish Band return to the faire, along with others still to be announced. Check out the full music lineup.

Stage Acts and Street Performers

Stage Acts and Street Performers

That's Trey Cromwell, the Professional Showoff! eating fire on the left. There's plenty of food at the faire, but I guess eating eating haggis just isn't the crowd pleaser that a flaming torch is and when you're a showoff... well... Plus there's mystifying magicians, jumping jugglers, beautiful belly dancers, and more alluring alliterations than you can shake a stick at! Yep! How can you go wrong with all this? Check out the full lineup of stage acts and street performers.

Celtic Vendors

Celtic Vendor Marketplace

If you want to shop, this is the place to do it. To look your best you can find jewelry, mens and womens clothing, and swords and armor. Enjoying the music? There are vendors selling music and others selling musical instruments. Want to research your past? You can do that too, and get a framed, historically accurate coat of arms. With over 80 food and craft vendors, whatever you're looking for, chances are somneone's selling it. Vendors

Historical Reenactment

Historical Reenactment

Step through time in the Celtic Living History area. Dozens of groups portray times from 50BC through the 18th century. Feel the Earth shake as a cannon files, and imagine charging into battle those hundreds of years ago. For the more peaceful, watch a day in the life of a Scottish houshold during renaissance times. Oh, and watch out for the peasant rats. Wonderful fellows, but they sleep in horse stalls and are rather filthy. Historical Reenactment
